The Establishment of Cardrona Village

The Establishment of Cardrona Village

Case Study

The first new village in the Scottish Borders Region for over 200 years.

This new residential community included the delivery of a first class championship golf course and the 99 bedroom MacDonald Cardrona four star Hotel, Golf and Spa (www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk) together with over four hundred new homes ranging from terraced cottages to six bedroom luxury villas overlooking the golf course. We worked with the local landowner to Masterplan the new community, and with leading golf course architects Dave Thomas to deliver the optimum golf course layout to maximise financial gain to the development. Subsequently we worked in partnership with four other house builders on the delivery of the new homes (Manor Kingdom constructed 80 units ranging in price from £300,000 to £1 million, other developers included Miller Homes, Tilbury Douglas, and Applecross), establishing a Developers Guide and Design Brief to ensure compatibility between the different housebuilders.
